III MEETING OF INTERNATIONAL LAW SOCIETIES

LIMA – 2023
This global meeting represented an opportunity to reflect on the great challenges facing international law, and the role that national societies could play as specialized academic entities to address them.
This was attended by more than 200 renowned internationalists from around the world, representing varied national, regional and cultural perspectives in the field of international law.
ORGANIZATION
The Peruvian Society of International Law (SPDI), chaired by Ambassador Oscar Maurtua de Romaña, was the host entity and had the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the World Network of International Law Societies (GNSIL) and the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC).

FINAL STATEMENT
Adopted at the end of the Lima Meeting of International Law Societies
The International Law Societies, meeting in the city of Lima, Peru, on March 23 and 24, 2023 in a series of panels that included the participation of very prominent jurists with the purpose of discussing and debating the challenges of international law and the role of Societies, declare the following:
Recognize the importance of the evolution of international law, its perception, the way in which it is conceived and the way in which the subjects communicate its content (language and narrative) as a subject of study and exercise to understand the contemporary role of international law.
